Last week (August 5th) - Nola was home sick again.  Yep, 3rd time this summer - flu, followed by strep throat, followed by a virus with fever/vomiting.  All of which have been passed on to mom.  This winter should be interesting!  I digress...


While she was sick, she had to come into the office so I could pick up my computer.  Look at what she can do - completely unassisted!

...goofballs!  Getting a serious picture with both a smile and eyes open is not likely to happen around here.

Wellness Checks & Beach Pictures

Maddux and Nola had their wellness checks yesterday.  Overall it when well....right up to the point where Nola needed to have a blood prick for her finger!

Maddux is now 52 inches tall - he is in the 97th percentile for height (on the American scale) and has grown 10 inches since the day we met him in China.  Overall he is doing well, needs to have his eyes checked based on his vision test at the doctor so we'll be following up on that.

Nola is now 43 inches tall - she has grown about 3 inches since we met her in China 16 months ago - she is in the 90th percentile for height (also on the American scale).  Looks like we will have some tall children!  She is doing well, no concerns, and didn't have to get a vaccination, we can wait until her 5 year wellness check!

We have lots of pictures to post from Disney, but need to find time to get them together.  Until then, a few pictures of our beach time last week at Topsail Beach.

Maddux Turns 7

Can't believe that Maddux is 7 already!  He had a great birthday on Sunday, which will be followed by a trip to Chuck E. Cheese on Saturday.

Mom's Visit & Easter

The week before Easter had a great visit with my mom for a few days, some pictures from dinner on her last night here... and Maddux's first ever black eye.  Actually turned out to be mostly carpet burn from falling while pushing a toy truck at full speed across the carpet.  Makes for some great pictures with my mom!  He was super happy about it as you can tell from the last picture.

Nola's first Easter home (we were in a hotel in Guangzhou last year for Easter)!  Maddux and Nola both loved coloring eggs, although have yet to eat any of them!  Easter weekend was rainy, but the kids didn't seem to mind an indoor Easter egg hunt - or more like "free for all" at the Surf City Community Center.  Nola finally got to have her first egg hunt - Maddux loves Easter and the egg hunt and had been telling Nola about it for weeks!
